Here Comes the Sun: Collection Launch
I am happy to announce the opening of “Here Comes the Sun,” my debut exhibition at Samu Studio, which will run from June 21 to June 30, 2024, at the Fairhurst Gallery. This multi-sensory exhibition explores themes of mindfulness and biophilic design, showcasing my latest work alongside complementary brands and designers within a curated wellness space/living room.
This reflective show includes subtle nods to my artistic evolution over the past fifteen years of living and working in Norwich, woven together via a new body of work, including minimalist abstract paintings, digital studies, and mycelium-grown sculptures. This event is symbolically tied to the Summer Solstice, representing renewal and new beginnings amidst a full-circle moment for me.
Visitors to “Here Comes the Sun” will be immersed in a multi-sensory environment inspired by Kettle’s Yard. The experience includes ambient lighting, curated scents, and tactile art pieces, complemented by ethically sourced furniture from inspiring designers such as the iconic Togo by Ligne Roset, scents by Haeckels, lighting by Tala, and furniture by TAKT, chosen for their ethical and aesthetically alignment with Samu Studio.
Throughout the ten-day event, there will be guided meditations, paper collage workshops with G . F Smith, and men’s mental health discussions in collaboration with our charity partner Talk Club, enhancing the connection between creativity and well-being.
Talk Club is a men’s mental health charity focused on creating supportive communities through open conversations. Its mission is to improve the well-being of men by providing a safe and inclusive environment where they can discuss their feelings and mental health challenges. By promoting regular check-ins and encouraging honest dialogue, Talk Club aims to reduce the stigma surrounding men’s mental health issues, foster emotional resilience, and ultimately reduce male suicide rates. The organisation offers various support groups, activities, and resources to help men connect, share, and support each other in their mental health journeys. Visit talkclub.org to learn more.
This exhibition is made possible with support from local, national, and international partners, including Jarrolds, Norwich Arts Centre, Design House, Haeckels, TAKT, Brandland, G . F Smith, Fujifilm, Assembly Coffee and Healeys Printers.
